Reintroduced in 2022 within the Code 11.59 collection, the Starwheel revives the wandering hours complication first developed by Audemars Piguet in the 1990s, itself inspired by 17th-century clockmaking. Instead of traditional hands, the watch uses three rotating sapphire discs carrying hour numerals that traverse a curved minute track, creating a dynamic and constantly changing display of time. Powering the watch is the in-house Calibre 4310, an automatic movement with a 70-hour power reserve, engineered specifically to drive the complex satellite hour mechanism while maintaining precision and reliability. Housed in the distinctive multi-layered Code 11.59 case—with its round bezel, octagonal mid-case, and architectural lugs—the Starwheel represents a bold fusion of heritage and innovation.
