Rolex GMT-Master II "Batgirl" Jubilee 126710BLNR 2019

Reference 126710BLNR on the Jubilee bracelet is the one collectors call the “Batgirl”, to separate it from the identical watch on an Oyster.

The bezel is why either nickname exists. It is a single piece of Cerachrom ceramic carrying two colours, blue and black, in one insert, with the numerals and graduations moulded into the material rather than printed on top of it. The colour changes at six and eighteen hours on the 24-hour scale, and because the ceramic is coloured all the way through there is nothing on the surface to rub away.

The Jubilee is the quieter half of the argument. Five-piece links, far more articulated than an Oyster, and it drapes rather than sits. On a watch designed for pilots that reads as a deliberate softening, which is either the point or the problem depending on who you ask.

Calibre 3285, self-winding, approximately 70 hours of power reserve, certified to minus two and plus two seconds a day after casing. Forty millimetres of Oystersteel, waterproof to 100 metres, with the Oysterlock safety clasp and its 5 mm Easylink extension. The arrow-tipped hand circles once every 24 hours and reads a second time zone against the bezel.

Near mint, 2019, offered as a full set. A second hand Batgirl, which is a sentence that only works because somebody decided the bracelet deserved its own name.
