Rolex Explorer 40 Ref: 224270 2024

Rolex returned the Explorer to a 40 mm case in 2023 with reference 224270, and the result reads like a correction long requested: the 3-6-9 dial with room to breathe, on a case that still disappears under a cuff. Black lacquered dial, Chromalight numerals, calibre 3230, Oystersteel throughout. The Explorer remains the least ornamented sports watch Rolex makes, which is its entire argument. The Explorer asks nothing of its owner and gives a great deal back — it is the Rolex most often recommended between collectors when nobody is performing.
