Rolex Explorer 2 Polar Ref: 226570 2023
The white-dial Explorer II — the Polar — is the configuration that keeps the reference honest: a matte white face with black surrounds and the orange 24-hour hand that recalls the 1655 original. Reference 226570 brought the model to 42 mm with the calibre 3285 and quietly improved lume, bezel and bracelet without disturbing what cavers and collectors already trusted. A 2023 example, authenticated in hand by our horologists, complete with its full set. The 226570 is the Explorer II most likely to be worn rather than stored, which makes clean, complete examples like this one less common than production numbers imply. Sold, and archived here.
