An 18 ct yellow gold Daytona with the black dial collectors shorthand as the modern Paul Newman treatment — black face, champagne registers, a line of red — reference 116508 at its most deliberate. The pairing recalls the exotic-dial Daytonas of the 1960s without imitating them, and in solid gold the effect is unapologetic. Calibre 4130, Cerachrom-free polished gold bezel, Oyster bracelet.
