Patek Philippe Split-Seconds Chronograph White Gold Green Dial Ref: 5204G 2026

The split-seconds chronograph is the complication watchmakers speak about quietly. Two chronograph hands run superimposed as one; press the pusher set into the crown and one hand freezes to capture an intermediate time while the other runs on; press again and the stopped hand leaps forward to rejoin its twin. Making that catch-up instantaneous, without disturbing the running chronograph, is among the hardest problems in mechanical watchmaking, and Patek Philippe builds only a handful of rattrapantes in any year.

The Ref: 5204 pairs that mechanism with a full perpetual calendar: day and month in twin apertures beneath twelve, analogue date and moonphase at six, day/night and leap-year indications set discreetly into the dial. Driving it is the manually wound Calibre CHR 29-535 PS Q — two column wheels and an isolator system governing the split, in a movement of more than four hundred and fifty components finished to the standard the Patek Philippe Seal demands, all of it visible through the sapphire case back.

This example is the more unusual for its configuration: a 40 mm white gold case — verified by the Au750 hallmark — carrying an olive-green sunburst dial that deepens to black at the rim, a pairing that does not appear in Patek Philippe's public catalogue, where the reference is offered in platinum and rose gold. The two split hands are plainly visible in our photography of this watch. Examined and authenticated in hand by our horologists before any transaction completed, and accompanied by its full set.
