The 5811/1G is the watch that followed the 5711 — and Patek Philippe chose to make it in white gold rather than steel, which told the market everything about how the line was going to be positioned from that point on.

41mm, a millimetre larger than the reference it replaced, in white gold throughout with the integrated bracelet and a redesigned clasp. The blue-toned dial keeps the embossed horizontal grooves and the applied gold markers, with the date at three. In the metal the difference from a steel Nautilus is immediate.

The movement is calibre 26-330 S C, the self-winding calibre introduced to replace the long-serving 324 — with a revised reversing mechanism, an anti-shock system on the rotor bearing, and a stop-seconds function for setting the time precisely. Between 35 and 45 hours of power reserve, water-resistant to 30 metres.

Like new in box, complete set, 2023. The 5811 in white gold is not a watch that appears often on the open market.
