The 5740/1G is the Nautilus at its most serious. When Patek Philippe put a perpetual calendar into the Nautilus case in 2018, it took a watch designed by Gérald Genta as a luxury sports watch and asked it to carry the brand's most demanding everyday complication. The result is a grand complication you could wear to the beach, and the tension between those two ideas is precisely the point.

White gold, 40mm, on the integrated bracelet. The blue-black dial carries the embossed horizontal groove of every Nautilus, with the perpetual calendar laid across it — day, date and month in apertures, moon phase and leap-year indication below. The calendar requires no adjustment until 2100.

Inside is calibre 240 Q, the self-winding perpetual calendar movement built on Patek Philippe's ultra-thin 240 base with its off-centre micro-rotor in 22-carat gold. That architecture is the reason a grand complication fits into a case this slim. Power reserve runs between 38 and 48 hours, and the case is water-resistant to 30 metres.

Brand new and unworn, complete with its full set including the winder box, delivered 2023.

Every watch is authenticated by an independent watchmaker before it changes hands, never by us. Viewing by appointment at our Collins Street boutique in Melbourne, insured delivery Australia-wide. We buy Patek Philippe outright and source specific references on request.
