Patek Philippe Aquanaut Steel Ref: 5065A 2005

Before the Aquanaut grew to its current proportions there was the 5065A — the 38 mm 'Jumbo' of the model's first generation, with the original embossed dial, painted Arabic numerals and a case that sits closer to the 1990s ideal than anything Patek Philippe makes today. First-generation Aquanauts surface far less often than their modern descendants, and originality matters more with each passing year. This example has been examined and authenticated by our horologists, and is accompanied by its full set. We see perhaps one first-generation Aquanaut for every dozen modern examples, and fewer still with their sets intact. This piece has been sold — archived here as a record of what passes through.
