The Big Pilot has never been a subtle watch — it descends from the oversized navigation instruments IWC built in the 1940s, and the proportions have stayed honest to that. What the perpetual calendar adds is a complication that has to be read at a glance: month, date, day and a double moon phase showing both hemispheres, all driven from a single crown.

The movement is IWC's in-house calibre 52615, with the Pellaton winding system that uses a pair of pawls driven by a cam to wind in both directions, and a full seven days of power reserve across twin barrels. The perpetual calendar is mechanically programmed to 2100. Water-resistant to 60 metres.
