The Daytona Ref: 116588TBR — the 'Eye of the Tiger' — sets a yellow gold case and factory diamond-set bezel around a black dial crossed with diamond-paved stripes, the most theatrical Daytona of its generation. Rolex built it in modest numbers for a clientele that did not need the tachymeter explained, and the reference has traded firmly since. The Calibre 4130 runs beneath; the Oysterflex keeps the weight honest on the wrist. Every element of the setting is factory.
